Rhea Chakraborty Opens Up On Marriage Plans, Says "Karni Hi Kyu Hain?"

One of the most controversial Bollywood stars, Rhea Chakraborty's journey was a rollercoaster ride right after Sushant Singh Rajput's sudden demise. After coming out of the entire scandal, she is now grabbing headlines for dating Zerodha founder Nikhil Kamath.

For the uninitiated, the actress was subjected to scrutiny and several media trials after she was suspected to be involved in Sushant's mysterious death. However, it's been over a year that she has come out clean from the case.

In a recent interview, Rhea Chakraborty opened up about her time in jail, the entire turmoil she went through, her plans on getting married, and everything in between.

Why doesn't Rhea Chakraboty want to get married?

The Jalebi actress sat down with Humans of Bombay for a rather candid chat where she spoke about every aspect of her life, including the good and the bad times. When asked about her plans to get married, she said she's not ready as there's a lot left for her to achieve professionally.

"First of all, there is no right age for marriage. Secondly, I'm reaching this place: 'Karni hi kyun hai (Why do you want)?' Why do you want to get married? ... Why should this be pressure on you only? Men don't feel this pressure. Because of the biological clock. Great, you can freeze your eggs. That is also a bit torturous, but please do it because it's available. Most of my girlfriends either got married in their 40s or got pregnant in their 40s and had children in their 40s. The majority of them did it then," Rhea said.

The Roadies diva also added how she's now contemplating being single throughout her 30s and exploring ideas of getting married in her 40s.

Rhea further said, "In my Excel sheet of pros and cons, the 40 category is winning. I'm 32, and I don't think I'm ready yet because I want to do a lot of things in my professional life... I don't want to go to a court of law for one more thing."

"Waha se yeh bhi permission loon ke kisse pyaar karna hai (Do I need permission from there on whom to get married)? I go for my passport I don't want to go for this. If you are in that place in your life where you're thriving, I don't think a man or being someone's wife is going to fulfill it," she concluded.

On the work front, Rhea Chakraborty was last seen as a gang leader in the reality show Roadies. She is now hosting a podcast of her own called Chapter 2.
